Illinois Eyewitness Identification Field Study Your location: Institute of Forensic Science and Public Policy :: Illinois

The Illinois Project

Summary

In April 2006, The Chicago Police Department released a report documenting the results of an eyewitness identification field study conducted at three Chicago-area police departments.  While the report raised doubts about the value of the sequential lineup method, many scholars have argued the study suffered from a serious design flaw.
